Ujjwal Jana

Dr.Ujjwal Jana is serving as Professor the Department of English, Delhi University (A Central University), India. His areas of interests are Indian Aesthetics, Indian literature, Translation Studies, Cultural Studies. His papers have been published in various journals like Post colonial Text, Translation Watch Quarterly, Australia etc. He has co-edited three books -Green Symphony: Studies in Ecocriticism, Sarup & Sons,New Delhi-India, Ecological Criticism for our Times: Literature, Nature and Critical inquiry Authors press, New Delhi, Subaltern Vision: a Study in Postcolonial Indian English Novel,Cambridge Scholars,London,April 2012. He is currently working on two Research Projects. The first one is on Rasa theory and Indian Philosophy, funded by Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi (2012-2014) and the second one is on Bangla Dalit Literature: A historical and literary Study, a Major Research Project, funded by UGC (2012-2014). He was a Fulbright visiting Lecturer, India studies program, Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. He was nominated for Commonwealth Academic Staff Feloowship in UK for the year 2013. He was a visiting postdoctoral scholar in Department of English, Leipzig University  sponsored by  Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) International collaborative Project  in 2014. He has been awarded the Sahitya Akademy Travel Grants Award in 2014. He has been awarded another Post doctoral Fellowship to pursue collaborative research Department of English,Johannesburg University, South Africa  sponsored by  ICSSR, India and NIHSS, South Africa  for 2016-2017.
